I
OPEN THE RUINS.
MATERIALIZE THE RUPTURE.
Architectural vocabulary should express society’s anger
and the yearning for a rupture with the unrestrained industrial era.
Cracking the building. Drilling holes in it.
Tearing its parts down. Until its image is
transformed. Offering a different
perception of the building at hand and due to that,
offering another point of view of the context of its time.
In this case, sensibility and prudence are
better allies than recklessness and shyness.
Changes occurs when the pain of doing the same thing is worse than the fear of change.
It is up to us to decide where we find
ourselves and what message we wish to deliver
to the future generations that will read our steps
in the archaeological traces we leave behind.
